Why do they call the donkey kong, donkey konk when he's not a donkey?

Every one enjoys that loveable monkey right for nintendo's donkey kong game right, but why is his name donkey kong when he is obviously not a donkey. Well here is your answer why (in a short version): the game desinger, Shigeru Miyamoto, chose the name becasue of the uproar of the movie "King Kong" (which meant monkey in japanese, the kong part of cource). He chose donkey because donkey's are generally stubborn; the original name was actually supposed to be called "monkey kong" but was accidentally changed for American release. But hey, all of our favorite games and characters all had different names a one time, example our beloved character Mario was Originally named jumpman in Japan(which is understandable since the only thing he really did was jump over barrels and climb ladders).
